Product information "Glencadam American Oak Reserve"
In 2006 it was time: Glencadam should no longer just be an anonymous component of Scottish blends, but make a name for itself.
Finally - because the distillery from the town of Brechin in the eastern Highlands has officially been around since 1825.

The founding date shows: Glencadam licensed early after the "Excise Act" massively reduced taxes on whisky.
At the same time, an official founding during this period indicates that there were probably "illicit stills" locally before that, i.e. illegal distillation.

The fact that 180 years of waiting for their single malts was worth it shows such as the new Glencadam American Oak Reserve.
 
The latest bottling in the versatile Glencadam range combines hints of poached pear and apple blossom with honey , roasted chestnut, mocha and lemon zest.
A complex profile that the Highlander only offers in Premium American Oak Bourbon Barrels from Kentucky - a core element in Glencadam's whisky production.
This is how the unadulterated bottling becomes an ideal entry-level whisky at the same time to get to know the small distillery and its soft, fruity house style.

Nose: Aromas of sweet vanilla bean and buttercream combine with orchard fruit, golden raisins and hints of Turkish candy Lokum
Palate: in a mix of poached pear and apple blossom, followed by acacia honey, roasted chestnut, mocha and lemon zest
Finish: sweet cooked fruit, light grapes and apple crumble, the slowly decrease and result in a persistent, gingerbread-influenced skip
