The story of the whisky: "The Ghost Piper of Clanyard Bay"
The unmistakable sound of the bagpipes is in Scotland common noise, especially in cities and at festivals and celebrations.
But what happens if the Piper itself disappears into thin air?
There are several stories of phantom pipers in Scottish history and folklore.
In days gone by, a dark network of tunnels is said to have stretched from the Cove of Grennan to the cliffs of Clanyard Bay near Stranraer.
The locals believed that fairies lived in these tunnels and caves, and no one dared go in and disturb them, until one day a piper bravely entered the caves.
He played loudly his bagpipes, accompanied by his faithful brown dog.
The music blared for hours and slowly faded away until it could no longer be heard.
Suddenly the dog ran frightened and howling without hair, he emerged from the cave!
The piper was never seen again.
Although the caves have long since disappeared, on summer nights passers-by have heard the distant sound of bagpipes ringing deep underground.< br>Maybe it's the wind whistling through the ancient underground caves, maybe it's just a trick of the mind, or maybe... just maybe it's the ghost of the piper, playing his Scottish tunes forever.
Chapter Four: Bay
Single Malts from Benrinnes are extremely rare.
Benrinnes is a remote distillery located 210 meters above sea level.
The raw spirit is heavy, fleshy and quite sulphurous, partly due to a complicated and unusual distillation process and partly because of the use of screw trays - horizontal condensation tubes that run through very cold water ensure slow condensation.
The malt is therefore in great demand among blenders.
What you need to know about the distillery
No fewer than 11 distilleries use water from Benrinnes.
The distillery was originally called The Lyne of Rutherie. The current distillery is actually about a mile from the original distillery location.
