Hyde No. 12 Pot Still Cask

Alan and Conor Hyde from Cork in southern Ireland have "full the dozen" and present their 12th bottling.
With Hyde No. 12, the pair are breaking new ground as it is the first pure pot still whiskey under their label.

Made from malted and unmalted barley and oats, triple distilled in pot stills and first matured in badly burnt ex-bourbon casks, so-called "alligator casks" and then in ex-Oloroso sherry casks, Hyde enters. No 12 full-bodied and fruity-spicy.
Thanks to the lack of chill filtration and the alcohol content of 46%vol. it stays on the palate for a long time.

The label bears the year 1893, commemorating the marriage of Douglas Hyde (1st President of the independent Republic of Ireland) to the German-born Lucy Kurtz .

Nose: slightly spicy aromas, plus dried fruit, honey and spicy oak
Palate: intense creamy notes of ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg - above all vanilla and creamier Honey
Finish: long, creamy finish with notes of fresh pastries, barley and wheat flour
