The Original Peated is a peaty, smoky blended Scotch whisky.
The so-called lead whisky in this bottling is the Islay Malt Laphroaig.
Islay Mist remains true to the founding recipe and is still characteristic of the original peated blend balanced smoky and peaty tones between layers of mild oak and malt notes.
Tasting Notes: This is how the Islay Mist - The Original Peated tastes like
- Nose: light smoke aromas, medicinal aromas, then sherry-heavy fruits, especially prunes
- Palate: again smoke and medicine, but also the fruits and the Sherry comes back, accompanied by raisins and freshly cut grass
- Finish: the prunes and medicinal notes lasted until the end and carry the finish
