River Rock - Batch 3 40%vol. 0,7l
Single malt for everyone - including the environment: the accessible River Rock Scotch Whisky
River Rock is single malt whisky with a clear mission: to make Scotch whisky more accessible and open the category to more people.
The "Missionaries" are three friends and former leaders of Edrington.
After more than 70 years in the liquor business together, Mark Geary, Laura Anderson and Bill Farrar are now going their own way.
Instead of brands like The Macallan, Highland Park or The Glenrothes, the undivided attention of the professionals belongs to their single malt scotch whisky - River Rock.
Like a river, the whisky pursues its individual goals.
Versatile, enthusiastic single malt for uncomplicated moments of pleasure, instead of demanding Scotch with supposedly elitist allures and a challenging profile: That's River Rock!
The founders spent around three years looking for a suitable spirit for their door opener into the world of Scotch whisky.
Gentle and seductive on the nose, soft and sweet in taste and with a hint of spice, but without any sharpness in the finish it should be.
What did you find? A raw spirit from the upper part of the copper pot still.
Its particularly pure taste develops in former bourbon Casks into inviting, lovely aromas.
These include roasted marshmallows, apples and vanilla as well as a spicy finish with oak tones.
The pleasant single malt Scotch whisky also stands out from many representatives of its category in other ways.
This is how his individuality and freedom are reflected in the bottle.
Like River Rock itself, the extraordinary glass container is inspired by the powerful movement of a river, which leaves unique patterns in solid rock.
Organically running grooves shape the sides.
The pronounced groove on the lower part of the bottle makes it easy to hold and makes pouring and sharing easy.
Contours that were modeled by hand in clay - a technique that River Rocks Glashütte has not used for over 30 years.
Each of the asymmetrical bottles has a different color - either clear or in shades of green and in future even black, blue or red.
The glass for River Rock whisky comes exclusively from overproduction and incorrect production, which otherwise - unused - would have been disposed of.
Up to the shrink capsule, the packaging is 100% plastic-free and 100% recyclable.
The brand even offers a refill service.
River Rock is also a proud member of "1% of the planet" and, in cooperation with "The John Muir Trust", plants a tree on the Schiehallion near Pitlochry in Scotland for every bottle of the single malt bought.
