Product information "Benriach Smoke Season 52,8%vol. 0,7l"
In the early 1970s, the Scottish Benriach distillery returned to the old distillation style of the 19th century and used malted barley that was smoked with Highland peat.
It was a daring, unconventional move into the Speyside whiskey region for making it of unpeated Single Malt Whiskys.

Benriach has made use of this creative approach to this day by peating during their "smoke season" makes Whiskys.
It's a time of year when the smoky aromas of the powerful Highland peat stream through every corner of the distillery in Moray.
This highland peat with its predominant proportion of wood from old trees, heather and fern roasts the malt and produces d distinctly sweet and aromatic smoke aromas in the Whisky.

This special edition was made with a high alcohol content of 52.8%vol. bottled to offer lovers of peated Whisky an intense and unadulterated experience of the pronounced sweet peat character.
Smoke Season is bottled in small batches that use one of the traditional, seasonal Benriach production techniques.
Maturing in American Oak Casks and former Bourbon Casks enhances the toasted quality Sweetness and brings depth and intensity to the smoky-sweet Benriach style.

Nose: burnt Caramel, spicy oak aromas and citrus peel
Taste: fruity notes of ripe apricots and fresh apple peel, with roasted almonds, and mocha cream - spicy oak above all
Finish: peat smoke and fruits go hand in hand in an intense, long finish
