Portrait: What makes the Glenfiddich 18 year old special

Founded in 1886, the world-famous distillery from Speyside in Scotland is still owned by the Grant family today - now in its fifth generation.
In the Valley of the Stag (Gaelic: Glenfiddich) the first distillate flowed from the still at Christmas 1887. After maturing in the finest exOloroso Sherry and exBourbon Casks, the 18 year old is aged in individually numbered casks for at least three months. married.
Each batch consists of approx. 150 barrels - three months of maturation in specially built large Oak Barrels (marrying tuns).
