Aberlour 12 year old Double Cask Matured 40%vol. 1,0l
The 12-year-old is medium-heavy to fine-spicy, sherry-like with very nice honey and spice notes.
After the first aging in traditional oak barrels, this malt was transferred to sherry barrels for a second aging.
Nose: fruity-soft aromas, clearly ripe apples and caramel
Taste: the fruits remain, plus dark ones Sherry notes, again caramel - then chocolate - becoming more spicy, especially cinnamon and ginger
Finish: long finish, warming and spicy
