The barley malt for these whiskys is 25 to 50 percent smoked over peat or wood and the distillates are stored in hand-picked southern and liqueur wine barrels.

The Limited Exclusive Edition of the Hercynian single malt whiskey matured in first fill ex-Bourbon barrels from the whiskey distillery Heaven Hill from the US state of Kentucky.
After five years of aging, the Harz based company filled 540 bottles of their special edition in a rich amber color.
