This is what happened in Isokyröer, Finland in 2012 - and this is how the Kyrö distillery came into being.
The Malt Rye Whisky is distilled 100% from malted Rye - the malting of the Rye is responsible for the fruity notes in Whisky and is rather unusual in Whisky production, here unmalted rye is usually used.
Nose: at the beginning clearly vanilla and soft fudge, behind it fruity aromas of prunes, dates and figs - over especially rich, earthy tones, clearly the rye
