For example, the traditional company Empresa de Bebidas y Refrescos produces various rum specialties directly in Havana. The Legendario Ron Anejo is a particularly interesting bottling. It is obtained from the molasses of Cuban sugar cane. Molasses is an almost black, heavy concentrate that is produced when sugar cane is boiled and is actually a by-product of sugar cane production. The diluted molasses is fermented with yeast. The resulting alcohol is called sugar wine and has an alcohol content of around 4 to a maximum of 5 percent by volume.

The Legendario Anejo Rum then matures in American white oak barrels for 9 years. Before bottling, it is filtered twice using activated carbon and silica. This removes undesirable flavors and aromas and contributes to its soft, harmonious character.

Legendario Ron Añejo was awarded silver at the International Rum Conference 2015 in Madrid, Spain.

Aroma: Spicy chocolate and delicate cocoa, with a clear but pleasant honey sweetness

Taste: Present notes of sweet, dried grapes and various spices. Cinnamon and vanilla are added to the distinct sweetness of the sugar cane molasses. Creamy soft body.

Finish: Medium long and soft, especially the delicate honey sweetness remains.
