A delightfully sherryied Ben Nevis from the Scottish Highlands, distilled on July 5, 1991, stored this single malt whisky a over 27 years in a refilled former sherry Butt, then the independent bottler Signatory filled the Butt on February 19, 2019 to only 592 bottles.
Nose: light mineral aromas, with some smoke and a lot of sherry - fresh pastries in the background Taste: a lot of chocolate and summer berries, followed by light notes of peanuts and molasses Finish: long finish with distinctly malted bread and black cherries, with light hints of tobacco and wood smoke
