This single malt whiskey gets an extra ripening in former Pedro Ximenez barrels - Spain's darkest sherry.
Aroma: intense aromas of peat and vanilla, with sweet raisins and toasted malt - over all smoke and iodine-containing peat
Taste: full body with a distinct, grassy malt - then more and more peat and smoke - slightly salty moments, to roasted coffee, again the vanilla and traces of fruit
Finish: very long finish with lots of fruit and peat - spicy oak

Absolut Spitze
Dieser edle Tropfen ist die absolute Krönung meiner bescheidenen Sammlung. Der normale Lagavulin ist ja schon extrem gut. Dieser hier ist noch ein wenig komplexer im Geschmack. Die zusätzliche Sherry Fass Reifung bringt halt noch eine Fruchtnote mit hinein. Für mich: best Whisky ever
