A true rarity - a 21-year-old Oban distilled in 1996, this noble single malt whiskey for the distillery Oban matured quite untypically, in refilled European oak barrels for over 21 years, bottled in 2018

Aroma: dry, maritoomes aroma of warm sand and dry seagrass, to sea salt - then fruit cake and peat with aromas of menthol, barley sugar and flaxseed - in the background moist and charred sandalwood, roasted marshmallows and wholemeal toast
Taste: soft and creamy with a strong note of cocoa powder and roasted coconut, surprisingly sweet at the beginning, then drier with notes of spearmint and menthol again, with hazelnuts and aniseed
Finish: long and spicy on the finish with herbs and cedar wood, cloves and black tea
