The first eight-year-old Talisker in barrel strength, matured in heavily burnt (first to last) ex-Bourbon American White Oak hogsheads.
With this bottling Talisker recalls the standard bottlings from the 1960s to 1987 - during this time was the eight-year Talisker with an alcohol content of 45.8% vol. the regular bottling.

Aroma: sweet aromas of menthol and peaty smoke, with cream, toffee and cereals - moist sandy beach, sea salt and oak - above all the Talisker-typical pepper note
Taste: soft and silky in the taste, surprisingly sweet with a delicate peat note and salty notes of cranberries, followed by sweet vanilla and ripe hazelnuts - behind it burned pastries and peat smoke
Departure: long and smoky on the finish with an elegant honey sweetness and spicy notes of pinewood and menthol - followed by licorice and warm smoke
