Portrait: What makes the Don Papa Finished in Sherry Casks special

Strictly limited bottling!
This noble Don Papa Rum first matured in American oak barrels that were previously Bourbon whiskey, the rum was then stored in four different exSherry cask types for a second maturation.
The Second maturation took place in Palo Cortado, Fino, Cream and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks.

Tasting notes: This is how the Don Papa Finished in Sherry Casks tastes like

  • Nose: surprisingly dry in aroma with clear nutty aromas, the Sherry is recognizable, but still restrained
  • Palate: rich and intense in taste - dark ripe fruits, now the sherry cask influence is very clear, plus dried fruits and sugar cane - pleasantly sweet with a slight spice
  • Finish: long and very soft in the finish - sherry and fruits go hand in hand
