Portrait: What makes The Story of the Spaniard Compass Box special

In the summer of 2018, Compass Box presented this new release in their own malt Whisky Collection, which, in addition to this sherry cask-infused Blended Malt Whisky also contains the brands Oak Cross, The Peat Monster and The Spice Tree.
In this blended malt whisky all the main whiskies are sherry-cask matured - the ideal blended malt whisky for the late evening or after a sumptuous meal.

Linkwood Single Malt (20.3%), 1st-fill Sherry Butt
Glen Moray Single Malt (11.8%), 1st-fill Sherry Barrel
Glendullan Single Malt (11.1%), Revatted 1st-fill Oloroso Sherry-Seasoned Butt
Miltonduff Single Malt (9.5%), 1st-fill Bourbon Barrel
TSOTS 2021-A Blended Malt (7.3%), Remnant (the rest of the previous batch of Spaniard)
Distillery Near the Town of Aberlour Single Malt (5.6%), Revatted First Fill Oloroso Sherry-Seasoned Butt
Linkwood Single Malt (4.7%), Re­fill Puncheon - ex-STR
Highland Malt Blend (3.2%), Custom French Oak Cask - Very Heavy Toast

Tasting Notes: This is what The Story of the Spaniard Compass Box tastes like

• Nose: clearly the sherry faß influence; - ripe, red berries and dried fruits - sweet and balanced - above all a slight spiciness
• Palate: full and very soft in taste with clear notes of citrus peel and ripe pears, cooked in red wine with spices
• Finish: long finish with tones of vanilla and panna cotta - followed by ripe berries and cherries
