Lagavulin celebrates its 200th anniversary in 2016!
Lagavulin proudly celebrates this anniversary with this 8-year old single malt whiskey reminiscent of the beginnings of the distillery.

The whiskey journalist Alfred Barnard visited the island of Islay and the distillery Lagavulin around 1880 and was thrilled by both the place and the 8-year-old serving him - he described the whiskey as "exceptionally fine".
The 8-year-old Lagavulin matured in European and American refill oak barrels - an incredibly complex single malt - sweet, smoky and warming.

Aroma: soft in the aroma with pure, fresh tones - traces of milk chocolate and lemon, behind it a combination of tea and smoke - the proximity to the sea and fresh grain
Taste: pleasantly silky mouthfeel, now clearly a Lagavulin! sweet and smoky - the smoke gets sharper and more - the sweetness decreases
Finish: very long and smoky on the finish
