Portrait: What makes the Coloma 8 year old special

An exceptional Colombian Rum with Spanish roots.
Behind the brand Coloma stands for the Spanish Constain family, who gained fame in Colombia through the production of coffee and especially coffee liqueur - and it is precisely this coffee liqueur that plays an important role in this rum.
After maturing for eight years in American oak Casks, the Coloma receives a six to eight week finish in the former Casks of the coffee liqueur, which gives the rum its special coffee note.

Tasting Notes: This is how the Coloma 8 year old tastes like

  • Nose: slightly sweet aromas of light chocolate and ripe vanilla beans, with roasted coffee and some spicy oak
  • Palate: soft in taste with strong notes of fruit and nuts, plus the coffee again
  • Finish: long finish - the flavor notes are long present
