Tullibardine had this single malt ripen for 12 additional months in former Burgundy wine barrels of the Chateau de Chassagne Montrachet.
The barrels hold 228 liters each, hence the number on the label.
The red wine barrels give the whiskey its beautiful ruby red color.
Aroma: spicy with elegant aromas of ripe red berries, lots of vanilla and roasted oak
Taste: creamy-soft mouthfeel with hints of sweet caramel, chocolate and nuts - again the red berries - then apples and oranges
Finish: a long finish with plums and allspice
