Yoichi Distillery is located on Japan's northernmost island of Hokkaido, owned by Nikka.
The single malt produced here has balanced notes of smoke, fruits and floral notes.
Nose: soft with soft peat flavors, smoke and ash, slightly salty notes followed by candied citrus fruits, licorice, nutmeg and ginger
Taste: strong in the taste with much peat, smoke and spices, in addition to fresh fruits, clearly melon and kiwi - followed by nutty notes of almonds and walnut, some chocolate
Finish: long and soft on the finish with ripe pears, mirabelles and apples - behind it a bit of menthol, coriander, leather and roasted chestnuts
