A 17-year-old rum from the since 2002 closed rum distillery Caroni on Trinidad.
Distilled in February 1998, the rum stored in the warehouses of the former distillery until 22 September 2015.
The tropical temperatures on Trinidad demand a very high "proportion of angels" - 80% of the contents of the barrels evaporated during the storage period of 17 years.
The barrels were shipped to Scotland for bottling and bottled there in November 2015.

The label is a reproduction of Caroni's bottle labels from 1940.

The 17-year-old is slightly lighter compared to 12- and 15-year-olds - but in fact he has a full body with very distinct and pleasant oak and vanilla notes.

Aroma: fruity, clearly banana and apricot - a little vanilla and oak
Taste: the fruits become more intense, with notes of mahogany and Madagascan vanilla, some cocoa and again the oak - spicy in the background with some camphor
Finish: Warm, spicy finish with vanilla and light moisture
