Donald Hart from Meadowside Blende Co. has selected a 27-year-old single grain whiskey from the North British distillery here - the barrel was given a second ripening in an ex-Sherry barrel before being bottled in March 2016 at just 282 bottles.
Aroma: initially fruity aromas of raspberries and blackberries, some citrus and fresh vanilla - then spicy with cilantro and nutmeg, bay leaves and tobacco leaves - light roasted aromas in the background Taste: again the fruity notes, with plums and blueberries - brown cane sugar and creamy caramel - sweet-spicy and creamy-soft Departure: again the vanilla and cane sugar, also the caramel is present, slightly spicy tones in the background
