Connemara is a genuine Pure Pot Still Whiskey from the fledgling Cooley distillery - located in the west of Ireland.
Cooley was founded in 1987, but with its ingenuity often provides surprises.
Atypical for Irish whiskeys, this malt was fired with barbecued malted peat.
Nose: fresh and light with clearly lemon, with rich peat flavors, some apple and pear - creamy malt
Taste: sweet with earthy peat notes - then rhubarb and vanilla, malt and wheat toast - some smoke and charcoal
Finish: medium in the finish, again the vanilla and the fruity notes - to smoke and spicy tones
