Product information "Octomore Edition 07.3_169 five Year Old Islay Barley 63% vol. 0,7l"

The second Octomore, which is made exclusively from barley from the native Octomore Farm of James Brown.
More specifically, the barley comes from the Lorgba Field of Octomore Farm and this was malted over peat fire in 2010 (with a phenol content of 169ppm) and then distilled.
The Single Malt Whiskey matured on Islay for five years in selected barrels that previously contained American Bourbon and Spanish Ribera del Duero wine respectively.
The result is an incredibly velvety-soft whiskey.

Aroma: lots of peat smoke and moist sea salt, then aromas of fresh lemon cake, apricot jam, freshly ground coffee and vanilla
Taste: initially strong in the taste with a velvety-soft mouthfeel - the maritime salt notes give way to a distinct sweetness of peach, apricot and melon - then spicy with notes of ginger, thyme and roasted oak
Finish: Peat smoke and salty notes are complex and elegant at the same time - long and warming
