Product information "Gunroom Navy Gin 57%vol. Sample 0,04l"
In sailing, the prerequisite for taking alcohol was a high alcohol content - gunpowder proof had to be the alcohol.
The gin or rum was stored in barrels in the Gunroom, so that after a possible pouring of a barrel of gunpowder was still capable of ignition, the alcohol had to be high percentage - as this Navy Gin with 57% alcohol content.
At the time only barrels were carried on the ships, because glass bottles were far too fragile for the long journeys.
The Gunroom Navy Gin takes up this old tradition again and lets the gin rest for two months in former whiskey barrels before bottling.

This gin, with its 12 select ingredients and an extra dose of juniper, perfectly embodies a gin from the 19th century: powerful, complex and aromatic!
