What makes the Glenfarclas 25 year old special?
The Glenfarclas 25 year old is a Single Malt Scotch from the picture book. And perhaps one of the last of its kind. The Glenfarclas Distillery makes Old School Scotch Whisky. Strong character, spicy, matured in Spanish Oloroso sherry casks. An authentic premium single malt that doesn't need any added color or major SchiSchi marketing to be convincing.
The Glenfarclas 25 year old stands like no other Single Malt Scotch Whisky for the enormous benefit of the Glenfarclas Distillery. This rare single malt matured in former sherry casks for a proud quarter of a century. There he acquired his deep and delicious aroma profile that only decades in oak can achieve. However, unlike most single malt whiskies of this age, it carries a low price. The older whiskeys get, the more we have to invest to buy them. The demand for very old whiskey has increased sharply. Unfortunately, since production takes many decades, this has led to an enormous shortage of old single malts. This in turn drives price increases. So why can Glenfarclas currently still impress with good prices? Glenfarclas is an independent, family-run distillery for 5 generations. It lies amidst the green hills of Speyside in Scotland. While many distilleries had to close or reduce production in the late 80s and 90s, Glenfarclas continued to distill. One of the advantages when shareholders or large corporations do not decide on the distillery operation. The fact that the family watches over the whisky and determines the treasures in the warehouses is paying off today. Also for us as connoisseurs. Because today we can benefit from the high quality and well-maintained cask stock of Glenfarclas. However, we recommend that you do not wait long before purchasing this magnificent example of Scotch Whisky. Nobody knows how long Glenfarclas can maintain the low prices for their aged whiskies. The sooner you strike, the better!
