Portrait: What makes the Benromach 10 years old with 2 glasses special

When Scottish barley was still lightly kilned over local peat , Speyside single malts had a completely different character than today. The Benromach Distillery is proud to preserve this heritage with the delicate smoky notes of its handcrafted whiskies. Connoisseurs are happy - as recently demonstrated by awards at Meininger's International Spirits Award.

Benromach has this Single Malt Whisky first matured in former Sherry and former Bourbon Casks, then for another year in exOloroso Sherry Casks.

Tasting Notes: This is how the Benromach 10 year old tastes like

  • Nose: at the beginning barley, malty with lots of oak - then becoming fruitier, especially plums and maple syrup - sweet and spicy, a bit of smoke
  • Palate: creamy! spicy-fruity, fresh, grated ginger, clearly fruity sherry notes - and the malt again - plus light peat notes
  • Finish: sweet-spicy on the finish - the ginger is present again, too a lot  Sherry and slightly peaty again

Perfect gift to get or give. This old style Speyside lightly smoked whisky is standing out in its taste and aromas. Only 10y but so matured. The smoke is very gentle. A dram!
