Portrait: What makes the Glenfiddich 12 year old special
Founded in 1886, the world-famous distillery from Scottish Speyside is still owned by the Grant family today - now in its fifth generation.
In the valley of the deer (Gaelic: Glenfiddich), the first distillate flowed from the still at Christmas 1887.
The 12-year-old single malt is probably the best-known from Glenfiddich, matured in former Bourbon and Oloroso Sherry Casks.

- Nose: fruity - reminiscent of an orchard, with honey and fresh malt
- Palate: light and very soft in taste, the fruity notes become more intense
- Finish: sweet-fruity finish, slightly oily with notes of oak

Ein schnörkelloser Standard. Keine Fehlnoten, keine Ecken und Kanten, keine Überraschungen. Eher langweilig, wenn man schon ein paar Whiskys getrunken hat, für den absoluten Anfänger aber sicher lecker.
