Benromach first ripens this single malt whiskey in exSherry and exBourbon barrels, then for another year in exOloros sherry casks.
Aroma: initially barley, malty with a lot of oak - then fruity, especially plums and maple syrup - sweet and spicy, some smoke
Taste: creamy! spicy-fruity, fresh, grated ginger, clearly fruity sherry and - again the malt - to light peat notes
Departure: sweet and spicy on the finish - the ginger is again present, with plenty of sherry and again slightly peaty
