Woodford Reserve - Double Oaked
Labrot & Graham use an unusually high proportion of corn (70%) for their whiskeys.
The remaining 30% consists of equal parts of rye and barley.
This gives the whiskey a light sweetness and, above all, a pleasant mildness.
After maturing in new barrels of American white oak, this whiskey is secondarily matured in heavily burned barrels.
Aroma: intense aromas of caramel and honey - with some marzipan, chocolate and oak
Taste: again the caramel and vanilla, now much fruity - especially dark berry fruit, then nutty notes and a slight spicy - very creamy
Departure: long finish - sweet and fruity - again the vanilla and oak

Ein wunderbarer WR, jedoch viel intensiver wie gewohnt von WR, am besten mit einen kleinen Schluck Wasser mischen!

Ein fantastischer Bourbon! Durch die 3fache Destillation und die doppelte Lagerung in 2 verschiedenen Fässern wird dieser unglaublich weich und vollmundig. Karamell und Schokonoten sind deutlich wahrnehmbar und machen diesen Bourbon zu einem echten Tipp!

Ich bin begeistert und froh, ihn probiert zu haben. Milder Geschmack, genau wie beschrieben. Man schmeckt die Eiche hervorragend raus ohne dass sie dominiert. PERFEKT!

War ein Geschenk und ist gut angekommen. Sehr schöne Flasche, allerdings ohne Umverpackung. Geschmackvoller Whisky.

Diesen Whisky habe ich meinem Mann geschenkt. Er liebt die weichen, vollen Sorten und inzwischen genehmigen wir uns beide hin und wieder diesen Digestif. Er wird in unserer Whisky-Ecke nicht mehr fehlen.

Faß, Faß, Faß !!! Sehr interessant neben den allen "Virgin Oak"-Abfüllungen der letzten Zeit. Das da ist Virgin oak on Steroids! Aber, wie gesagt, etwas Anderes!
