The distillery Stronachie was already in the 1930s, a victim of the "whiskey crisis".
Due to high grain and cabbage prices, the distillery had to stop production at that time, but in the 1950s it was almost completely demolished.
Today only a few walls near the small town of Forgandenny in Perthshire in the Highlands are reminiscent of what great whiskey was once produced here.

Today AD Rattray fills under the name Stronachie single malt whiskeys, which correspond to the style of the distillery.
