Product information "Gerston Vintage Blended Malt Scotch Whiskey - Distillery Lost 46% vol. 0,7l"
There were two distilleries named Gerston - the first existed from 1796 to 1882 and produced a single malt whiskey that had a huge success.
The distillery was located on the north coast of Scotland in Halkirk / Caithness. The barley was sourced from the Orkney Islands, the peat from the area.
The whiskey was the number one in the high society in London, the British Navy helped the whiskey to considerable success in India and Brazil.
In 1882 the distillery wanted to be enlarged, during construction work the water source was inadvertently redirected underground so that the distillery did not have to draw and close any more water!
Four years later, Englishmen wanted to bring the number 1 whiskey Gerston back to London and opened Gertson Two. A true monster of a distillery, huge with huge stills.
Unfortunately, the quality was far from the first distillery, so Gerston Two closed the gates forever in 1914.
Aroma: very fruity, clearly the aromas of ripe red fruits and toffee
Taste: the fruits are more dominant, you taste plum, red berries and apples - then comes back to the toffee in the foreground, spices and a little smoke to join
Finish: long, warm finish
Batch No. 1
Edition: 1,000 bottles (with individual numbering)
