Profile: What Makes Akashi Blended Whisky Special
Akashi Blended Whisky is a pleasantly light blend with an elegant oak note – distilled and blended at the White Oak Distillery in Akashi City. The blend of malt and grain whisky matures for an undisclosed period in bourbon, shochu and new oak casks.
The whisky is soft with a mild, apple-tinged sweetness and also suits mixing.
Tasting Notes: What Akashi Blended Whisky Tastes Like
- Nose: Rich malt notes mix with bright orchard fruit, a hint of dried apricots beneath; nutmeg, fennel seed and caraway, plus hot cross buns and lemongrass
- Palate: Lemon glaze, fudge, honey, nectarine and kumquat over an undercurrent of pepper and cinnamon; a subtle peatiness; sweet cereals with a dusting of nutmeg and black pepper
- Finish: Medium length, quite sweet with dried apricot and a touch of oatcake

Nun ja, als Einsteiger in einen netten Abend geeignet. Hier fehlt einfach die Vielschichtigkeit und Raffinesse. Ein seltsamer Geschmack nach Holz und Nuss und auch fast saure Töne.

Wollten unbedingt mal einen Japaner probieren und meine Gäste waren Begeistert.
Obwohl sehr jung steht er seinen schottischen Vorbild in nichts nach.
Da ich das Torfige Islay liebe, habe ich für Gäste welche meinen
Geschmack nicht teilen, diesen für mich milden, ausbalancierten, weichen und leicht nach Eiche schmeckenden Blend unbedingt im Haus. Die Lagerung soll lt. Produktinfo in ausgekohlten japanischen Eichenfässern erfolgen. Bewertet haben meine Gäste.
