Portrait: What makes Barbancourt Rhum 15 year old special
Haiti's oldest company has been producing its own since 1862 Rum, whose founder Dupré Barbancourt developed the recipe for this successful rum.
For over 150 years, Barbancourt has been one of the most awarded rums in the world.
The Rhum Barbancourt 15 year old Réserve du Domaine is made from pure sugar cane juice and, after distillation, is refined in French Limousin oak Casks for 15 years . Once intended for the Gardère family, it has been released in limited quantities every year since 1960 to connoisseurs worldwide.
The 15-year-old rum has a powerful body, right from the start a rich variety of flavors - especially preserved fruits such as pears and lemons, as well as cinnamon and pepper.
The production methods developed by founder Dupré Barbancourt are retained to this day. This includes double distillation, which is also traditionally used in the production of cognac.
Under the watchful eye of the master distiller, each rhum matures in the specially imported French Limousin oak barrelsin the cool and damp cellars in the heart of the Plaine du Cul-de-Sac, a fertile plain that stretches from Port-au-Prince to Lake Azuéi, near the border with the Dominican Republic.Northeast winds bring rain and cool the tropical climate.
What makes Rhum Barbancourt unique?
Rhum Barbancourt is one of the most sought-after and renowned rum distilleries in the world and stands for outstanding quality and tradition. Founded in Haiti in 1862, Barbancourt is one of the oldest rum distilleries in the world. To this day, Barbancourt is still independently owned by the family, which preserves and develops the heritage.
Since its founding in 1862, Rhum Barbancourt has been known for its quality and tradition. The founder, Dupré Barbancourt, originally came from the Charente region of France and brought his knowledge of the art of double distillation and aging in French Limousin oak barrels to Haiti.
Excellence is the key to success by Rhum Barbancourt. To ensure consistent quality, only fresh sugar cane juice is used to make the rhum and processed directly to preserve the freshness and intense aroma.
Each rhum is aged in oak barrels which are imported directly from the Limousin region of France.Throughout its 160 years of history, Rhum Barbancourt has maintained its expertise while the distillery's technologies and ambitions have evolved. Today, the distillery fills Haiti with great pride, with each generation having made its contribution.

Besser
Nicht nochmal.
