Gordon & MacPhail first ripened this 18-year-old Caol Ila for 10 years in former bourbon barrels, then for a further 8 years in selected exSassicaia wine barrels.
The result is an amber-colored, fruity-sweet single malt whiskey with a very elegant smoke and peat note.
Aroma: baked fruits, traces of toffee apples, chocolate and in the background peat smoke
Taste: initially clearly roasted malt, rich with plenty of fruit, then comes the peat in the foreground - some birch wood and anise
Finish: long finish, again the fruit and the chocolate, the smoke comes through again

Circulation: 1,100 bottles
