This is only the second Lagavulin ever bottled at this age.
The first bottling was a 1985, bottled in 2007.
Ripened in exSherry barrels, this is a rarity - just 2,772 bottles were bottled, individually numbered.
Aroma: rich aromas of raisins, red, ripe fruits and smoke
Taste: again the ripe fruit, then a sweetness comes to mind, reminiscent of buttery caramel, full body with notes of molasses, toffees and candied apples
Finish: the finish is complex and deep, roasted oak and fresh wood smoke, finally baked apples
