Octave barrels have just a content of about 45-68 liters, with the result that a single barrel bottling does not produce many bottles - in this case, just 71 bottles.
Due to the small size of the Octave barrels, a whiskey can not spend long maturation here, the influence of the wood and its aromas is too big - "too much whiskey has too much contact with the barrel".
The Arran matured for 16 years in a bourbon barrel, then the whiskey came for another six months in a sherry octave cask.
An Arran from the second "year of life" of the distillery on the Scottish island of the same name.
Aroma: vanilla, rhubarb, coconut and the arranic aromas of freshly cut grass and lime
Taste: Lime juice, spicy notes paired with cinnamon biscuit and burnt wood - a light sweetness of sherry
Finish: again the slight sweetness and again the light smoke of burnt wood
