Bruichladdich's Single Malt Whiskey, which leads back to the beginnings of whiskey distilling.
Bere Barley is the world's first cereal to be cultivated and grown.
From this variety, all distillates were made in the early days of whiskey distilling.
The grain was brought by the Vikings with their longboats from Mesopotamia in the Middle East over the Black Sea and the Baltic Sea to Norway, the Orkney Islands and finally to the Hebrides in western Scotland.
Agronomists in Scotland have brought the Bere crop back to life and Bruichladdich brings this grain back to the whiskey.
Grown on the Kynagarry Farm Achaba on Islay.
