Founded in 1894 in the Speyside, the distillery Knockdhu for a long time supplied the basic malt for the Haig blends.
Knockdhu was shut down in 1983, sold to Inver House in 1988 and reopened one year later.
Only six barrels were selected and bottled.
The single malt matured in Spanish and American oak barrels.
Aroma: soft and very well balanced with sweet and fruity aromas, with vanilla. A few drops of water and the whiskey opens more aromas of honeysuckle and gooseberry.
Taste: very soft, full-bodied, sweet notes of sherry and vanilla, with a little bit of citrus fruit hidden away.
Finish: full and incredibly long.
