In 1824 Mortlach was founded in Dufftown / Speyside.
It is the oldest of the seven distilleries in Dufftown.
For a short time she belonged to the Grant Brothers of Glen Grant, who put her off.
In 1854, George Cowie took over the distillery, he later became mayor of Dufftown and hired the young William Grant, who worked there for another 20 years, before he became self-employed and founded with Glenfiddich one of the most successful professional lives worldwide.
Aroma: dark chocolate, sweet Christmas cake, sweet sherry and a spicy scent reminiscent of Christmas
Taste: fruity, again dark chocolate and a nice spicy note
Finish: spicy finish, long with dark, dried berries in the background
