Product information "Dailuaine 40 Year Old 1971/2012 Douglas Laing Director's Cut 47.6% vol. 0,7l"
Douglas Laing & Co. was founded in 1950 as a blending company.
The core business is still old-fashioned blends - the main markets for Douglas Laing & Co. are Latin America and Asia.
Since this business has been declining since the mid-90s, it has been decided to fill the best malts from its own stock as a single malt.
This resulted in the high quality "The Old Malt Cask" series as well as the "McGibbon's Provenance" series.
Dailuaine "Director's Cut"
Founded in Speyside in 1854, Dailuaine was completely rebuilt at the end of the 19th century, and was the first distillery to receive the pagoda roofs that are so famous today for their dry floors.
Dailuaine entered into close business relationships with the Talisker distillery in 1898, and these two malts are still the basis for the blends of Johnnie Walker.
Aroma: Citrus flavors, some vanilla, malt and honey
Taste: soft with subtle notes of sugar and cedar, spicy
Finish: honey again, warm spicy with some smoke
Data of bottling
Distilled: December 1971
Bottled: February 2012
Edition: 117 bottles
