Product information "Ron Zacapa Solera Gran Reserva"

The Ron Zacapo is distilled in Guatemala, 2,300 meters above sea level.
The Casks used are between 6 and 23 years old, the Solera Gran Reserve is produced and bottled in the Solera process (commonly used in sherry production).
For this purpose, first different rum Casks are married together in a solera Cask.
Only half of this solera cask is bottled, the other half remaining in the cask and replenished with a new batch.

Ron Zacapa is made exclusively from fresh sugar cane juice.
Zacapa uses old bourbon, sherry and Pedro Ximénez Casks for rum storage.

Nose: vanilla, almond, with sweet, fruity aromas, some chocolate, toasted wood and a bit spicy in the background
Palate: The taste again recognizes the vanilla and almonds, again fruity sweet and very balanced
Finish: the finish very long and elegant

Wow! Da war ich sehr überrascht. Der gute Ruf hatte schon ein gewisses Erwartungsspektrum gebildet. Dieses wurde allerdings kaum erfüllt... Dieser Rum ist fast kein Rum im klassischen Sinne, dieser Rum ist eher ein Whisky. Die übliche Süße ist kaum vorhanden, dafür hat der Zacapa ein breit gefächertes Geschmacksbild. Dieser entwickelt sich schön im Abklang. So entsteht ein schöner Begleiter für einen entspannten Abend. Sehr spannend und absolut empfehlenswert!
