Product information "Glenisla 37 Year Old 1977/2015 Hogshead # 19602 Signatory Cask strength Coll. 46.1% vol.0,7l"
Behind the name Glenisla hides a very peaty malt whiskey of the distillery Glen Keith.
Glen Keith was built by the Chivas & Glenlivet Group in the period 1957-1960.
The aim of this distillery was to meet the enormous demand for the big brands such as Chivas Regal and others, whose blends included Glen Keith's entire production.
Only at the end of 1994, the first own bottlings came on the market, before it was Glen Keith as a single malt only from the independent bottlers.
Until the year 1970, the malt was distilled three times at Glen Keith, before switching to the already in Scotland now common double distillation after upgrading the stills (stills).
In 1999, the distillery was closed due to overcapacity.
Aroma: Freshly cut wood, with ripe apples and cinnamon - in the background Butterscotch and smoked cheese
Taste: buttery in the taste with clear notes of brandy and fresh apple pie, toasted oak with pleasant sweetness
Finish: very long finish with notes of pears, bananas and cloves
Distilled: 07.07.1977
Bottled: 14.01.2015
Barrel No .: 19602
Edition: 266 bottles with individual numbering
