The independent bottler Signatory was founded in 1988 by the brothers Symington in Edinburgh.
At the beginning of their history, the brothers did not yet have the necessary influence in the whiskey industry, so the two often had to put up with barrels that spurned by the large, renowned independent bottlers such as Gordon & MacPhail or Ian MacLeod due to low editions or even lower quality were.
This is now the past and from the small, insignificant bottler has become a renowned, acclaimed producer, who often comes up with rare and coveted bottlings.
Since 2002, the smallest distillery in Scotland - Edradour - owned by Signatory.
Ladyburn
A true treasure from the Scottish Lowlands.
Just nine years, from 1966 to 1975, the malt distillery Ladyburn was operated within the large grain distillery Girvan.
Ladyburn was operated to meet the then increasing demand for the blends from Wm Grant & Sons.
There were never bottlings as single malt from the distillery itself.
Very rarely have there been bottlings from independent bottlers.
It is very uncertain how long it will be possible to offer bottlings of this rarity.
