Kilchoman is Islay's latest distillery.
Over 120 years have gone to the "Islay Land", before Kilchoman with a new distillery was built on the island.
Established in 2005 as a farm distillery, Kilchoman is one of Scotland's smallest distilleries.
Farm distillery means that here a part of the barley used is grown and even malted.
Only 90,000 to 100,000 liters of alcohol are distilled here per year.
The whiskey is stored in "fresh bourbon barrels" from the Buffalo Trace distillery in Kentucky, USA, as well as in "fresh Oloroso Sherry Butts" from Spain.
Sherry Cask Release 2012
The first bottling of Kilchoman, which was stored exclusively in exOloroso sherry butts.
Storage time: 4.5 years
Aroma: light peat flavors and a blend of fruits and spices
Taste: Sweet at the beginning, then peat smoke and various fruits and spices
Finish: The finish is long, clean and refreshing with a character and a richness that is not common for such a young whiskey.
