Buffalo Trace
Whiskey has been produced here since 1860.
The distillery underwent many changes of ownership - and even more name changes.
Since 1999, the distillery bears only the name Buffalo Trace.
With Blanton's, the distillery released the very first single barrel of bourbon in 1984.
Buffalo Trace is now a bit more modern and has abandoned traditional patterns.
For example, the mash is boiled under pressure and cooled in vacuum tanks, the warehouses are heated in winter.
Five different cereal mixtures are used.
There are even mixtures with wheat instead of corn, but also a pure rye mixture.
Jim Murray praises the Kentucky Straight Bourbon as one of the largest whiskeys in the world!
