Portrait: What makes the Scapa 16 year old

Scapa, founded in 1885, is the direct neighbor of Highland Park and the second distillery in the Orkneys.
Scapa is only half a mile short of the title of "Scotland's northernmost distillery."

The Scapa distillery is located the Scottish Orkney Islands in the very north of the country.
With a view to the Scapa flow, magnificent single malts with a lot of character are created here.
The Scapa 16 year old matures exclusively in former Bourbon Casks and impresses with its elegant balance fruity and spicy notes.

Tasting Notes: This is how the Scapa 16 year old tastes like

  • Nose: Aromas of juicy mangoes, leather, vanilla cream and a hint of clementine peel
  • Palate: silky and creamy in taste with notes of spiced apple pie, vanilla pudding and gentle oak - hints of spice in the background of cloves and cinnamon
  • Finish: complex, fruity and slightly spicy in the middle finish
