Bushmills Black Bush

Profile: The Bushmills Black Bush at a glance

  • Bushmills Black Bush: One of the most popular whiskeys in Ireland
  • Elegant recipe: 80% malt whiskeys & 20% Grain Whiskeys
  • Matured for up to seven years in exBourbon & exOloroso sherry casks

Portrait: What makes the Bushmills Black Bush special

Bushmills Black Bush is the marriage of a large proportion of malt whiskey with a smaller amount of sweeter grain whiskey. The malt whiskey used matured in old Oloroso sherry barrels, the grain whiskey in former bourbon barrels.
The result is a blended whiskey with plenty of fruity notes and an intense character.

Like all whiskeys from Bushmills the Bushmills Black Bush is distilled three times. In the traditional way, the mash contains unmalted barley, which is not dried using peat smoke. This gives the whiskeys from Bushmills Distillery their typically soft and fruity character and tastes significantly less rough than most Scottish malts. Discover this wonderfully easy-to-drink and at the same time versatile Bushmills whiskey.

Tasting Notes: This is how the Bushmills Black Bush tastes like

  • Nose: ripe barley and Grapes - plus fresh citrus aromas and red, ripe berries
  • Palate: intense fruity notes of ripe berries, soft and elegantly rounded off with a clear sherry note
  • Finish: now the barley again, the sherry remains, plus tones of fresh pastries
