Made of peated island whiskies, Speyside softens and Highland malts as well as grain whiskeys create drams with depth and complexity that mature for at least eight years.
Most of the whiskeys it contains matured much longer: The Isle of Skye 8 year old is a remarkably soft and mild blended Scotch with an age statement.
Its character is characterized by a high proportion of island and Speyside malts.
This inexpensive gold winner harmoniously combines the best characteristics of the regions and brings honey and sweet vanilla as well as peat smoke into the glass.

Junger, spritziger, leicht rauchiger Blend aus Malt Whiskies. Darf in Schottland in keiner Bar oder Pub fehlen.

Ein interessanter Blend. Man meint, bestimmte, verwendetet Malts herauszuschmecken: Lagevulin, Caol Ila, Talisker, gepaart mit merklich süsslichen Varianten aus Speyside und Highlands, evtl. Glenlivet, Glenallanchie(?) Genau weiß man es nicht, aber der Name Isle of Sky sollte ein Hinweis sein. Sicher, ein Blend ohne Frage. Die verwendeten Grain Whiskies sorgen für einen leicht metallischen Nachgeschmack. Insgesamt schmecken aber rauchige und süssliche Singel Malts hervor. Die durchschnittliche Supermarkt Konkurrenz hat alle Mühe hier mitzukommen. Benutze diesen Whiskey auch gerne, um Leute zum Sigle Malt zu bekehren, denn wer hier gekostet hat, schmeckt uns erkennt ggf. auch wieder, wen ich ihm danach einen Single Malt serviere. Der ein oder anderen beginnt dann zu verstehen, warum Single Malt die Krönung des Whiskeys ist. Kann man guten Gewissens Leuten servieren, die bisher nur Standard Blends kannten und auch als Eigenverkostung für zwischendurch keine schlechte Wahl. Kaufe ich jetzt wieder, denn meine erste Flasche ist nun leer.

Ein sehr schön ausgewogener Blend, den ich gerne auch mal mit einem Tröpfchen Wasser "anpasse".
